II.         Approval of Minutes:

Review of the minutes from the meeting of April 10, 2008 hosted by the Seaside Fire Department and recorded by Doug McCoun.

Special Presentation:

Mike Ventimiglia was presented with a Plaque and a $100.00 gift certificate recognizing his hard work and dedication to the Training Officers Web Site.

III.        Treasurer’s Report:

The monthly Treasurer’s Report was presented by Dan Gearhart on behalf of the book-keeper Kathryn Pernet.

 Motion made by Stewart Roth and 2nd by J.T to approve the Treasurer’s report.

Treasurer’s Report was approved as presented.  Motion carried.

IV.       Correspondence:

1.         No correspondence

V.        Committee Reports:

A.        ICS:    

            John Trenner reported that he has direction to get the program back on track.  He will be working on the project. 

B.        Wildland Committee:  Dave Sargenti reported that the last planning meeting was held before the TO’s meeting.  He advised that this years school will have 5 Branches.  Branch 6 has been eliminated and the Dozer branch has been eliminated. The Plans trailer has been cancelled.  JT will look into buying barricades and Stewart Roth and Dan Gearhart will assist with obtaining barricades for the School.  The School will have about the same number of attendees as last year and will proceed as scheduled.

C.        Fire Library:    Dave Sargenti received a price of $6,100.00 for the Fire Fighters Action 8 DVD series with discounts bringing the price down to $4,727.00.  No action taken or requested.  

            D.        Programs: 

                        Auto X:           The Auto X class went well.  Financial report to be presented at the next meeting.  Proceeds are expected     
                        to be around $645.00.   Motion made by David Sargenti and 2nd by Stewart Roth to make a $1.00 profit with the rest of the
                        proceeds to be dispersed by Joe Pastore in a way he see fits to A&S Metals and Speed of Light towing to offset their        
                        cost.  They will also get a plaque of appreciation from the TO’s.   Motion Passed

                        PC -832:    Class is full.

            E.        Website:         Doug and Dan are working on the Web Site.  They received a proposal from one vender and their price is
                       $10,000.00 and another vendor $5,700.00.  The are waiting on a call back from  Red Shift for a price quote.  They are also
                        working on other price quotes.

            F.         State Fire Academy/MPC:  Natalie reported that the Public Safety Center is moving forward.  She expects the construction
                        contract to be awarded at the June meeting and construction to start in July.  She said that this will be a 12 month project. 
                        She will also have meetings with the Chiefs to discuss Burn Plans, Parker Flats and other pertinent facts to keep the Chiefs
                        up to date.

            G.        Wellness and Fitness:   It was reported that 12 people failed the  class and that it cost $200.00 to retake the test.  We noted
                        that nobody from the wellness and fitness committee showed up and  that they have not been showing up.  Motion by J.T
                        and 2nd by Gearhart to remove the Wellness and Fitness program from the agenda.  Motion passed.   A 2nd motion made
                        by Stewart Roth and 2nd by David   Sargenti for the President to pass along the information and the discussion to the
                        Chiefs.  Motion passed.

VI.       Old Business:

 1.         Movement Drill.  Some of the items identified at the Drill were: The need for a County Wide Large building search procedure.  The need for a Standardized terminology for C.A.N. and P.A R. reports. We also discussed the need for more overhead to respond to the mutual aid drills.   A motion by Humberto Arista and 2nd by Gearhart was to replace the smoke solution used at the drill and supplied by Stewart Roth.  Motion passed.

VIII.     Good of the Order:

1.         S-212 class started yesterday at Salinas Rural. Class is full and will end on Friday.  BLM is instructing the class through a grant.
